About the event
From Dr. Rachel Smartt:
“There’s no treatment available for his rare cancer. Go home. Live the best you can, for as long as you can.” Those were the shocking and terrifying words the doctors used when they told us that they couldn't do anything more for my husband in 1997. They gave him six months to live and after we recovered from the paralyzing fear, we began to research our options and look for a better way to live. We began to research nutrition and how whole foods could be medicine for our bodies, which if given the proper foods, could heal and repair themselves in ways we couldn't have believed before we began our endeavor. Through much research, we changed our diets to include mostly whole foods and eliminate processed, sugary and unhealthy junk foods from our diets. Our efforts gave Dave 8 more, healthy years with our family and now I am blessed to live my passion every day, helping other families improve their health. I do this via nutritional counseling, speaking engagements and training sessions tailored to age and activity level, and also nutritional supplements and recipe changes. Smartt Nutrition is about more than making good decisions. I believe strongly in encouraging people to realize their dreams. Physical, spiritual and nutritional health is key to living the dream.
